A Tool for Exploring, iNaturalist
Jacob Stagg is a member of the Sacramento Aquarium Society with roughly 35 years of experience in aquatic animal husbandry, both as a hobbyist and professional. With degrees in Fisheries Biology and Microbiology, Jacob uses his passion and experience working on aquatic conservation and species management programs for the US Fish and Wildlife Service as a fisheries biologist. He also has experience designing and constructing recirculating aquaculture systems used for scientific research and conservation breeding programs. In his spare time, Jacob enjoys fly fishing, SCUBA diving, and generally exploring the natural world. Jacob joined iNaturalist in February 2014 to participate in the Global Freshwater Fish BioBlitz. Since then, he has become an iNaturalist Ambassador to help others share their love of nature and discovery on the site.
Each regular SAS meeting begins with a guest speaker presentation, followed by our monthly auction. We also hold a raffle for gift cards from local stores and have a sales table with club merchandise and fish bagging supplies available for members and guests.
